January-February 2010

Welcome 2010

Cartoon

2010 marks our 3rd year in the Illawarra, we have surpassed the nervous first 3 years of a new business, negotiated several trials and tribulations with our sights now set onwards and upwards. Our focus is toward making your exercise experience as ideal as possible. We have begun canvassing for input on our group exercise classes, which are to start in February dependent on input. You will notice a greater personal presence of our staff in the gym, they are there for you, so ask questions or feel free to chat. PT Gym also has plans this year to improve the member experience through liaison with other businesses, such as the café across the road, and through member only events. See our new notice board, website or next edition of the newsletter for updates.
We would like to welcome Mark to our team, Mark is an experienced PT who up until now has been working in the Physical Therapy Pool conducting group exercises. He will be around more and more and like all of our staff, is willing to help.
Yours in Health
Paul

Food Choices...

Master ChefDo you have a favourite recipe or dish that you like to cook or eat but feel guilty because you know it’s not good for you?
Do you feel that your diet could use an injection in taste rather than fat or calories?
Then Email your dietary woes to Paul and he will endeavour to create a modified or substitute dish for you.
Paul has spent the best part of 4-5 years working in the food industry as a café manager/cook and a sous chef in a French-International restaurant. He continues to cook at home when he can, and believes that taste and nutrition should go hand in hand.
Email your dietary questions to enquiry@ptgym.com.au master chef in the subject line. The most interesting recipes and results will feature in upcoming newsletter issues.

New Year's Resolutions...

We have all made New Year’s Resolutions in the past, although not many of us stick with them or reach our goals. Here are some tips which will help you reach your health and fitness targets in 2010....

  • Choose exercises that you enjoy, you will be more motivated to perform these than exercises you dislike.
  • Each week, schedule the days and times that you wish to exercise and stick with it. If you make the time, there are no excuses. Once scheduled, set some short-term goals for the week.
  • Keep an exercise log to keep track of your progress. PT Gym Diary’s are available to help you with this.
  • Integrate exercise into your work day. For example, park the car further away from the office, use the stairs or get up and walk around at least once per hour.
  • Exercise with a friend. Motivation from both of you will ensure you stick to your exercise schedule.

Reward yourself with enjoyable things when goals are reached.
PT Gym staff are always available for assistance if you have trouble finding motivation or want to ramp up your training.
Good luck.
